Firefly Phone Wins 2006
'Best Of Innovations' Award
from Consumer Electronics Association

Honor Underscores Innovative Solution for Keeping Families Connected and Strong Consumer Response to the First Mobile Phone Designed Expressly for Kids Ages 8 to 12

CHICAGO, Ill. – Nov. 15, 2005 – Firefly Mobile today announced the Firefly phone has won the prestigious 2006 CES Innovation Award, presented by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The Best of Innovations Awards are given to the most highly honored products in all facets of the consumer technology industry. Firefly Mobile is proud to announce it has been honored with the Best of Innovations Award in the category of telephones. This year, more than 1,000 entries from over 160 companies were evaluated based on innovation, value, aesthetics, and contribution to the quality of life.

CES Innovations Awards are selected annually by a panel of prominent industrial designers, engineers and journalists, who judge more than 1,000 product entries. Sponsored by CEA and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America, the Innovations Awards highlight product advancements in technology design and engineering.

Firefly Mobile is revolutionizing the mobile industry with the pioneering, voice-only Firefly phone. After gathering extensive research and input from thousands of parents, kids and educators across the country, the Firefly phone was specifically designed to address the needs of parents who feel that giving their 8-12 year old kids a fully functional “adult” cell phone is indulgent.

With just five keys instead of a regular dial pad, parents use a private PIN to program up to 22 outgoing numbers into the phone, including speed-dial keys for Mom and Dad. Kids place calls by pressing the Mom, Dad or Phone Book icon keys, and then Send. An optional call screening feature allows the phone to accept incoming calls from only those numbers programmed into the phone book. The phone uniquely has no text messaging, no camera, and no ability for tweens to access the Internet.

The Firefly phone is the first mobile phone to provide parents with peace of mind, knowing that they can always communicate with their child if plans and schedules change. Tweens value the ability to stay connected to the most important people in their lives.

The award-winning Firefly phone will be displayed in a special Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase at the CES Central Plaza, Las Vegas Convention Center, during 2006 International CES, January 5-8.
